For Life
Grounded in Stoicism and discipline, these rules help cultivate clarity, resilience, humility, and inner peace.
- Own the morning.
- Only focus on what’s in your control.
- Don’t suffer imagined troubles.
- Treat success and failure the same.
- Just do one thing every day.
- Constantly ask, “Is this necessary?”
- Love your fate.
- Read books.
- Be strict with yourself and tolerant with others.
- Turn obstacles upside down.
- Remember: you are dying every day.
For Relationships
Inspired by the book “How to Make Friends And Influence People”, these rules help us understand each other through empathy and listening.
- Do not criticize, condemn, or complain.
- Appreciate, honestly and sincerely.
- Arouse in the other person an ardent desire.
- Become truly interested in the other person.
- Smile.
- Remember that a person’s name is to them the sweetest and most important sound in any language.
- Be a good listener; encourage people to talk about themselves.
- Talk about things that interest the other person.
- Make the other person feel important, and do it with sincerity.
For Finances
These next rules are well known, but pretty hard to follow.
- Don’t spend more than you earn.
- Never buy on impulse.
- Only use your credit card if really needed.
- Always have an emergency fund.
- Take note of everything you spend.
- 70% monthly expenses, 20% savings, 10% fun.
- Always research before a purchase.
Following everything perfectly is impossible; I just keep them as a guide. And I hope it helps you as it has helped me many times before.
